Just a day ago, it was revealed that President Trump himself was involved in the investigation for obstruction of justice, and now the latest report from The Washington Post claims that former FBI Director Robert Mueller is also investigating Jared Kushner’s business dealings.

An independent investigation is being conducted into the Trump campaign’s potential relationship with Russian hacker operatives and the investigation is led by FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Previously, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is also reported to be involved in the investigation. Kushner is said to have various meetings with Russian operatives, including reports that Kushner once suggested a secure communications line between the Trump administration and the Russian Kremlin. The news also shows that investigators are also combing through Kushner’s finances.

“We do not know what this report refers to,” said Jamie Gorelick, one of Kushner’s lawyers. “It would be standard practice for the Special Counsel to examine financial records to look for anything related to Russia. Mr. Kushner previously volunteered to share with Congress what he knows about Russia-related matters. He will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry.”

Although Peter Carr, Robert Mueller’s spokesman, didn’t make any comment on this story but did say “that the Special Counsel’s Office has undertaken stringent controls to prohibit unauthorized disclosures and will deal severely with any member who engages in this conduct.”

Further details of these investigations have come to light as speculation runs high that the volatile Trump might fire Mueller, after a longtime Trump friend revealed the president was currently being stopped from doing so by the fervent counsel of his aides.
